Acupuncture is a medical system originating in East Asia that has been developed over the course of thousands of years. It's theory is based on the belief that all pathology is the result of imbalance in the body. Acupuncture works to help bring the patient's body back into balance so that it may heal itself, understanding that our bodies in their perfect state are capable of maintaining a healthy, homeostatic environment.
Whether this is your first time receiving acupuncture, or you are a long-time convert and are just looking for a new practitioner, it is important that you feel comfortable with and confident in your healthcare decisions.
Here is what to expect from a treatment with Jennifer:
Acupuncture:
On your first visit with Jennifer, she will take a comprehensive health history and perform a Chinese medical diagnostic exam. Once she has come up with a Chinese medical diagnosis, your treatment may or may not include any of the following: acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, moxa, tui na, heat therapy, herbal prescriptions and lifestyle/nutritional counseling.
Follow-ups will be very similar, but with an abbreviated intake. We’ll go over how things are progressing and adjust our treatment plan as needed.
First time Acupuncture appt:
Duration: 90 minutes
Price: $175 (not including herbs/supplements)
Available Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Follow-up Acupuncture appt:
Duration: 60 minutes
Price: $110 (not including herbs/supplements)
Available Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Herbal Dermatology:
Jennifer’s protocols for skin health are primarily herbal, with acupuncture being a beneficial companion. Initial visits involve a one hour long conversation outlining the patients comprehensive health history, and any relevant information from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Once a Chinese medical diagnosis is determined, a treatment plan is put together and the patient is given options on nutritional protocols, herbal formulas and/or vitamin/mineral supplements for their consideration.
The treatment time also includes a 20-25 minute acupuncture session.
